Crispy Fried Halloumi Sticks are a delicious appetizer or snack. Halloumi cheese is perfect for frying because it doesn’t melt easily, so it becomes golden and crispy outside while staying soft inside. 🧀✨

Ingredients

  • 250 g halloumi cheese
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best)
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • Optional: sesame seeds or chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Cut the halloumi
Slice the halloumi into finger-size sticks.
  2. Prepare coating stations
    • Bowl 1: flour
    • Bowl 2: beaten egg
    • Bowl 3: breadcrumbs + paprika + pepper
  3. Coat the sticks
    • Dip halloumi in flour
    • Then egg
    • Then breadcrumbs (press lightly so they stick well)
  4. Heat the oil
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry
Fry the sticks for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  6. Drain
Place on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serve With

  • Sweet chili sauce 🌶️
  • Garlic yogurt dip 🧄
  • Honey drizzle 🍯
  • Lemon wedges 🍋

💡 Tip: For extra crispiness, chill the coated halloumi sticks in the fridge for 15–20 minutes before frying.
