Beef Wontons are small dumplings filled with seasoned minced beef, wrapped in thin wonton wrappers, and either boiled, steamed, or fried. They’re popular in Chinese cuisine and are great as an appetizer, snack, or in soup. 🥟
Ingredients
For the filling
- 250 g minced beef
- 2 green onions (finely chopped)
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
For wrapping
- 20–25 wonton wrappers
- Small bowl of water (for sealing)
Optional for frying
- Oil for deep frying
How to Make Beef Wontons
- Prepare the filling
Mix minced beef, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, pepper, and salt in a bowl. - Fill the wrappers
Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. - Seal the wontons
- Dip your finger in water and wet the edges.
- Fold into a triangle and press to seal.
- You can also bring the corners together for the classic wonton shape.
- Cook the wontons
Boiled:
- Drop into boiling water for 4–5 minutes until they float.
Fried:
- Fry in hot oil at 180°C (350°F) for 3–4 minutes until golden.
Steamed:
- Steam for 6–8 minutes.
Dipping Sauce
Mix:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- ½ tsp chili oil
- ½ tsp sesame oil
Serve the wontons hot with the dipping sauce. 🔥
