Chicken and Spinach in a Slow Cooker

Here’s a simple and flavorful Chicken & Spinach Slow Cooker recipe that’s healthy, creamy, and easy to prepare. 🍗🥬

Slow Cooker Chicken & Spinach

Ingredients

  • 500–700 g boneless chicken breast (or thighs)
  • 3 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup cooking cream (or coconut milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Layer the base:
    Put chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Add flavor:
    Add onion, garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour liquids:
    Add chicken broth and drizzle olive oil over the top.
  4. Slow cook:
    • Cook on LOW for 5–6 hours
    • Or HIGH for 3–4 hours
  5. Shred the chicken:
    Use two forks to shred the chicken slightly inside the cooker.
  6. Add spinach & cream:
    Stir in spinach and cream. Cook 15–20 minutes more until spinach wilts.
  7. Finish:
    Add parmesan if using and mix well.

Serving Ideas 🍽️

  • Serve over rice
  • With garlic bread
  • Over pasta
  • Or with roti/naan for a South-Asian style meal

Quick Tip

If you want more flavor, add:

  • ½ tsp chili flakes 🌶️
  • 1 tsp lemon juice at the end for freshness 🍋
