Crockpot barbecue ribs

Posted on March 10, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, tender Crockpot barbecue ribs recipe 🍖🔥 that turns out juicy and fall-off-the-bone.

Ingredients

  • 1.5–2 kg pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1½ cups barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (optional)

Instructions

1. Prep the ribs

  • Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs (helps them get tender).
  • Cut ribs into sections so they fit in the slow cooker.

2. Season

  • Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub the seasoning all over the ribs.

3. Add to Crockpot

  • Place ribs in the slow cooker standing up or stacked.
  • Pour about 1 cup of barbecue sauce over them.

4. Cook

  • Low: 7–8 hours
  • High: 3–4 hours

They should become very tender.

5. Finish (recommended)

  • Carefully remove ribs and place on a baking tray.
  • Brush with more barbecue sauce.
  • Broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes until caramelized.

✅ Tips

  • Add sliced onions or garlic in the slow cooker for extra flavor.
  • For a smoky taste, add ½ tsp liquid smoke.
  • Use your favorite barbecue sauce—sweet, smoky, or spicy.
