Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 1 medium head of green cabbage, chopped
  • 1.5 lbs (≈680 g) smoked sausage (like kielbasa), sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced (optional, for extra heartiness)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional, for flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prep ingredients: Chop cabbage, potatoes, and onion. Slice sausage.
  2. Layer in slow cooker: Start with potatoes and onions at the bottom, then add cabbage and sausage on top.
  3. Add seasoning & liquid: Sprinkle garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour chicken broth over everything.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until cabbage and potatoes are tender.
