Did your zipper break, you don’t need to spend money to fix it! A tailor taught me this trick, you fix it easily in 1 minute and it’s as good as new.

That “1-minute zipper fix” is actually based on a real, simple trick—tailors use it all the time 👍

🔧 Most common problem: zipper won’t stay closed

The slider (the part you pull) gets loose and stops gripping the teeth properly.

✅ Quick 1-minute fix (pliers method)

  1. Pull the zipper up as far as it will go
  2. Take a pair of pliers
  3. Gently squeeze the slider on both sides
  4. Test the zipper

👉 This tightens the grip so the teeth lock again

🧼 If the zipper is stuck

  • Rub a little soap, candle wax, or even lip balm on the teeth
  • Move the zipper slowly up and down

👉 Reduces friction

🔁 If the zipper keeps opening behind the slider

  • Same fix: carefully tighten the slider
  • That’s usually the real issue

⚠️ Be careful

  • Don’t squeeze too hard → can break the slider
  • Works best on metal zippers (plastic ones are more fragile)

❌ When this won’t work

  • Missing or broken teeth
  • Completely damaged slider

👉 In that case, replacement is needed

✔️ Bottom line

Most “broken” zippers aren’t broken at all—
👉 they just need the slider tightened, and they work like new in seconds.
